The Chillcast

The Chillcast by Anji Bee is exactly what is sounds like - a podcast of chillout music that you can also listen to online. I listened quite a lot at the weekend and tonight it's served me well while doing coursework. With around 2 years worth of material on site there's a nicely large amount available. I definitely recommend it.

Whitfield

It's been ages since I put anything up here to do with music but Whitfield's whole album is worth linking to. I've linked to one of their songs below but you should be able to get to the rest of the album by clicking the link. Their music is sort of brit-poppy and it kind of reminds me of Keane - those sort of feel good sounding melodies. You can listen to the whole album streamed online with the option to buy if you like it.

ProjectOpus.com

I heard about ProjectOpus through the Drupal Showcase Forum at Drupal.org recently but I only just decided to check it out. The site is still in beta currently but there are already some quality albums and singles available. The site allows you to purchase music but also lets you listen to all the music through a nifty little streaming player. Everything I've listened to so far has been very good quality and I've even been tempted to branch out into other music styles that I'm not normally interested in such as Pop and Jazz. This site looks like it can only get better as more and more artists register. I strongly recommend that you check it out!

Sundays in Spring

Sundays in Spring is a netlabel specialising in indie / acoustic style music. It's pretty easy listening, nice to have on in the background type music. The label is definitely worth checking out as pretty much everything up at the moment is good. Their home website seems to suggest that they have another couple of releases coming soon or already out. Hopefully they'll be uploaded to the Internet Archive soon as well.

Mayapple Weather - We no Longer Believe in Miracles, We Rely on Them EP

Mayapple Weather's We No Longer Believe In Miracles, We Rely On Them EP is a short set but well worth a listen. The production quality is very good and the tunes and lyrics catchy. I would buy this album if it were available which I guess is probably one of the best compliments you can give an album.

Sinestetici - The Definition of Imperfection

I've been listening to The Definition of Imperfection for most of today. It grabbed my attention as soon as it started playing and has held it since. The set contains music that is relaxing with a mixture of electronic and acoustic music overlaid with what I assume are Sinestetici's lyrics. Tracks 5 and 6 are quite folky sounding which may not be to all tastes but after listening to them a couple of times I found that I was liking them too. Overall it is well worth checking out. Try it, you might like it.

Aleksi Virta - ..Meets Torsti at the Space Lounge

My first music reccomendation.

I've been listening to Aleksi Virta - ..Meets Torsti at the Space Lounge pretty much constantly throughout the last couple of weeks and it's definitely something that I'll stick on my MP3 player when it finally arrives. It's a mixture of a jazz/funk/electronic sound and it's very very cool. The music is very catchy, in no time you'll be humming along to the instrumental and it just begs you to dance around the place with it's beat. It's just right to relax with in the summer sun.

Pick your favourite player, crank up the sound and stream or download it if you're on a slow connection. It's definitely worth it in my opinion.
