Having Fun

Who said the old'uns can't have fun. Here we are crossing a gorge on what is locally called a Comet line. I think it is referred to as a zip line in England. We had previously had to walk across the "rope" bridge to get to the other side first and paid a small fee to purchase some still photos and an .avi on a small floppy disc.

It was fast, they had told us that the more weight there was the faster the zip worked so we were hooked together. We each sat on a canvas type seat with climbing type fasteners to hold us in. I admit she had to add extensions to mine as they wouldn't fasten otherwise! At the end there was a huge net made of bungy type ropes so that in case the brakes failed we would be caught like fish in a net.
