Rubbish Day

Things seem to be going wrong today.

I recently had a minor ant infestation in my flat which I thought I had got rid of but today I noticed that they'd come back so I had to spend a couple of hours trying to get rid off them again.

My Creative MP3 player crashed during a file transfer and once I had manually reset it and connected it back to my computer the driver no longer works and therfore the player is not recognised by the computer.

As part of the reset the music library on my MP3 player had to be recompiled by the player. After recompiling, the library seems corrupted in that although it seems to had all the required information about what tracks and albums are loaded it doesn't seem to be tranferring this information between all modes that the player goes through. this mean that for example when you are playing an a track from an album when you try and scroll to see the other tracks inside the album they just all show up as blank.

While plugging and unplugging the USB cable connecting my cable and the MP3 player I realised that the port wasn't electrically shielded well after shocking myself a couple of times when touching the unplugged end of the cable. Now the shocked finger on my left hand feels all weird and a bit tingly.

Oh, and I dropped and subsequently broke a plate.

Maybe tomorrow will be better? (Sigh)

Good day

I had a good day because yesterday I took Matt to his new house share with all his goods so I could at last hoover the floor in the room he has been inhabiting for the last 15 months. Prior to this I couldn't see the floor. All the bags of rubbish have been disposed of and the half empty bottles of coke, water etc have been put in the rubbish. I have of course appropriated the three quarter empty red bottle of Absolut Rasberri 80 proof vodka purely for the red glass you understand! There is space on the bathroom windowsill now that all the various hair products have gone. I no longer have to worry about when he will get home because he now has his own home in Bermondsey near the Millwall Football Ground stadium. I can walk through the garage from front to back because all the boxes have gone and I've at last found one of my green kiln gloves that were buried under Matt's goods. I still have to take his bicycle to him though once he has found a place to keep it safely. Hey John and I are once again on our own in our own house.

So... when is Edd moving back in? ;-)

Clutter

No way, have you seen the amount of clutter he has. Plus there is still lots of his stuff in the loft, including about 200 Roland's.

The Zen is back!

Woohoo! I managed to get my Zen MP3 player working again. And all it took was to completely remove anything 'Creative' from my machine, reset and reboot the player, disassociate the Zen from Windows Media Player, reboot the computer and re-plug the Zen back into the machine.

So... not the most easiest of fixes but at least it's working again and it gave my 'keep playing with the settings until something gets better' approach to computer problem solving some validation. ;-)

Fixes

Hey, you've pinched my method of solving computer problems. It involves a great deal of stubborness which you've inherited from someone. I also use this approach when trying a new type of bead. I've had some success with two new sorts of bead and will post pictures when I've sorted out the ordering for an EZ cube from Tabletop Studio Ltd. It's the first company I've ever had problems with paying. Card was rejected for some unknown reason and similarly a Paypal payment. I'm currently going through the steps to get this sorted. I've ordered the 12 inch cube on the advice of the people from the Silicon Folly Torch Forum.
P.S Matt has handed to Dad his new business card on which he is described as a "Metals Analyst" at G.F.M.S in Regent Street. Woohoo.
