Stonehenge

Below is a 4 image hand held pano that I shot while visiting my brother in Reading. Any comments and criticisms would be welcome (note there is no lens flare! ;-) )

Stonehenge

I like it. I like the fact tht you have not centred the stones because I can see people and trees in the distance and it reminds me of how far away people are kept by the fencing. I suppose they want to guard against graffiti and people taking samples home with them. Incidentally Wikipedia says that:-
"A henge is a prehistoric architectural structure which consists of nearly circular or oval-shaped flat area over 20 metres (65 feet) in diameter" Thus the name stone henge, i.e. a henge deliniated by stones. Those on the Time Team programme get very excited when they discover a new henge, but in these cases I believe the henges show up below ground as disturbances in the soil showing different colours of soil in the henge shape. Can anyone improve on my description which is not very scientific.

Henges

(What's the plural of henge?)

It sounds right to me. Edd and I went to Wood Henge on the same afternoon and took a 360 degree panorama there. It'll take a while to process that one though as one of the pictures exposures is off from the others frustratingly.

I accidently saved over the

I accidently saved over the original of the above file with a version that is smaller and of a lower quality. I was trying a different treatment of the picture with a more realistic colour balance. Oh well - I had printed it so at least I have that. The version below is now the only full size version I have. Which version do you prefer?

New Picture

I prefer the first picture, it's more atmospheric but the only criticism I have of it is that I don't like the dark blue patch in the top left corner. If it was the same colour as the dark blue patches on the top right, that would be better I think. The second picture looks to me more sunshiney, as it probably was, but I like the effect in the first picture . After all stonehenge is supposed to have a spiritual quality to it.

Moody

Yeah - I think I like the moody version better too. Shame I saved over the original!
