The first ring i made from silver plated wire and had a bit of difficulty following the instructions so the ring shank came out much too large. I wanted to try again but didn't want to purchase 0.3mm silver wire especially and have it go wrong so made this second ring in copper and I think it works well with the colour of the stone. The cabochon incidentally is one made from the broken half of a lampwork bead so nothing wasted. I'm now more conversant with the instructions in the tutorial and have added a few steps of my own such as clamping the three strands of wire that form the shank in a plastic clamp whilst weaving. Plastic so as not to mark the wire.

I think I will make the ring again in silver when I come accross a suitable cabochon.
